People are so different, aren’t they?
Skin color, geography, hair type, eyes…
What a wealth of diversity!
And just as this is true in the physical world, it is also true in the abstract one:
Ways of thinking, perceptions of life, ways of expressing themselves, the directions they take, their desires… all are just as varied.
Just as we can distinguish and group skin tones:
Fair, wheatish, tanned, dark…
Just as we can recognize eye colors:
Brown, gray, green, blue…
And just as we can describe hair types:
Curly, straight, wavy…
There is also a way to distinguish and understand differences of a more abstract kind.
What are people’s neurological styles?
Through which channel does each person perceive best?
And therefore, how do they communicate what they perceive, and why in that way?
What are their shortcomings, the aspects they need to develop?
And on the other hand, what are their strengths, their natural talents?
Yes, it really is possible to differentiate these aspects—just like physical differences. :)
And when we begin to recognize them, we start to give meaning to these differences.
Suddenly, a thought echoes in the mind:
“Ah, so that’s why he or she is like this…”
and a sense of relief sets in.
This applies both to understanding others… and to understanding ourselves.
After that relief, new questions begin to arise in our mind:
“So, what now? How do I communicate with this person? How do I manage our relationship?”
Don’t worry, says the Experiential Design Teaching.
If there is a question, there is also an answer :)
And there are plenty of questions… and plenty of answers!
But first, let’s take the very first step, shall we?
Let’s start by calibrating our differences…
Let’s start by understanding their causes, so that our mind can relax,
and we can set sail with ease on the sea of relationships.
If a person does not notice differences, they risk drowning in problems…
And if they do not accept them, how can they manage their communication, their relationships?
The very first step is this:
Who is in front of me? And who am I?
This is the very beginning—and such an important beginning—
Because this is where the journey truly starts…
So, if we bring along with us
a little curiosity for truth,
a little drive to take action,
and a genuine hunger to learn…
Then let’s go!
Let’s discover together: Who is who?
